This proposal speculates on a future housing typology and construction system. The architecture is an expression of the experimental extrusion process using a recycled wood plastic composite system.
This project was finalist in the Grand Design Modular Housing Competition and exhibited at Grand Designs Live in the UK.
The competition entry was developed in collaboration with Pete Williams an English architectural designer currently based in Canada.
This new city is based on a loose framework that allows for organic growth. Living conditions can adjust and adapt to accommodate changes in family sizes.
Pods for living and working are extruded on site and craned into position. The extruded construction system reduces the many layers seen in typical construction techniques.
