Qualities of the past urbanism are remembered and re instated with a pedestrianised route through the site and new ink over the canal to the south.

Through studying a number of Arts and Crafts projects the approach to the architecture is a contemporary reinterpretation of historic styles in the area.

This mixed tenure housing scheme encourages social interaction between residents through the generously sized platforms spanning between the two blocks. There is space to meet, greet, eat and play. The two dramatic spiral staircases connect the ground level to the upper platform.
